The name suggests France; the perfumery is entirely Middle Eastern. What the house does well is the nut-and-cream gourmand — almond, pistachio, marshmallow, whipped cream, salted caramel — treated seriously rather than as novelty. Minya and Khair Confection are the two that built the reputation, and Marshmallow Blush is the sweetest thing in the range.
Why this register works here
Gourmand fragrances suit a market that wears perfume in the evening and in air-conditioned interiors. A nut accord is warm without being heavy, and it reads as expensive in a way that pure sugar does not — the bitterness in almond and pistachio is what keeps these from becoming dessert.
What to expect
Eleven fragrances here, mostly 100 ml eau de parfum. Good projection and long wear; creamy bases cling to fabric well after they have faded on skin. Cooler months and evenings — in daytime heat a nut gourmand amplifies quickly.
