Notes

Top: pink pepper, saffron, grapefruit
Heart: tobacco, vanilla, cedarwood
Base: patchouli, olibanum, cashmeran, dry amber

Saffron against tobacco

Saffron is dry and slightly leathery; tobacco is sweet and faintly dried. Together in this composition they read closer to pipe tobacco than to cigarette smoke, and the vanilla underneath is what keeps the whole thing from becoming austere.

How it wears

Two sprays, then wait - the grapefruit and pepper are loudest at the opening, and the tobacco-patchouli development takes the better part of an hour. Evening and cooler months suit its weight.
