Bakhoor Mukhalat 70g - El Nabil

Mukhalat means "mixture" in Arabic, and that is exactly what this El Nabil bakhoor is: woody and amber top notes, a heart of rose and lily of the valley, and powdery jasmine underneath.

Mukhalat blends are the household staple of Gulf incense — not built around a single material but balanced across several, which is why they suit everyday burning rather than special occasions. The powdery jasmine base gives this one a softness that a pure oud bakhoor does not have.

How to burn it. Light a charcoal disc, wait for it to grey over, then place two or three chips on top. Ten to fifteen minutes of burning scents a room for several hours. More chips will not give you more fragrance, only more smoke.

Scenting clothes and hair. Hold the fabric open above the smoke for a few seconds, moving it rather than leaving it still. The scent settles into the fibres and outlasts anything sprayed on. This is the traditional use, and a mukhalat blend is the right register for it.

Presented in its own container. Keep it sealed between uses to stop the oils drying out.
