Bakhoor Al Sahara 30g - El Nabil

Bakhoor Al Sahara is El Nabil's incense built on oud wood chips infused with fragrance, enriched with mandarin, vanilla, saffron and tonka bean.

That combination is unusual for a bakhoor: mandarin at the top is bright where most incense is dark, and the vanilla and tonka give the smoke a gourmand warmth rather than a resinous austerity. Saffron sits between the two, dry and slightly leathery.

How to burn it

Light a charcoal disc and wait until it stops sparking and greys over at the edges. Place two or three chips on top — never more, or you get smoke instead of fragrance. It burns for ten to fifteen minutes and the room holds the scent for hours. To scent clothes, hold the fabric open above the smoke for a few seconds.

Storage

30 g. Keep the container closed between uses: once the aromatic oils dry out, the chips burn as plain wood and nothing else.
