Bakhour Oud Al Khanjar is Banafa For Oud's gourmand incense: oud and vanilla together, which is a warmer pairing than the austere oud bakhoor most houses make.

The blend is enriched with musk and fragrant oils, and finished with amber and a softness of rose. It burns woody and intense rather than smoky-bitter, and the vanilla is what makes it comforting instead of ceremonial.

How to burn it

Light a charcoal disc and wait until it stops sparking and greys over at the edges. Place two or three chips on top — no more. It burns for ten to fifteen minutes and the room holds the scent for hours afterwards. To scent clothes, hold the fabric open above the smoke for a few seconds rather than draping it over the burner.

Where it suits

A living room or a guest room, where its gourmand warmth reads as hospitality. Keep the container closed between uses: once the aromatic oils dry out, the chips burn as plain wood.
