Dr. Althea's Barrier Cream 147 is a Korean moisturiser aimed at strengthening a compromised skin barrier. Fifty millilitres.

What is in it

The repair side comes from ceramide NP and squalane, with cholesterol alongside them - the three lipids a healthy barrier is built from. Sodium hyaluronate appears in multiple forms for hydration at different depths, and panthenol and beta-glucan handle soothing. Coptis japonica root extract and artemisia princeps (mugwort) sit alongside avocado and camellia seed oils for comfort.

Why the barrier matters

A weak barrier lets moisture escape and irritants in, which shows up as sensitivity, redness or a tight feeling after cleansing. This formula addresses that structurally, with the actual lipids the skin is made of, rather than only masking the symptoms with a heavier occlusive layer.

How to use it

Last step of a routine, morning and night, on slightly damp skin - a moisturiser applied over damp skin holds more water than one applied over dry.
