Why it has the reputation it does

It is uncompromising. Where most oud compositions round the material off with rose or amber, Black Afgano leaves the resin and the smoke exposed, and the sweetness underneath is there to make it wearable rather than to make it pleasant. People either recognise it immediately or find it too much - there is very little middle ground, and that is the point.

How to wear it

One spray. This is a fragrance routinely over-applied, and at extrait concentration a second spray does not add depth, it adds volume you did not want. Evening and cooler months; midday heat lifts the resin and makes it overwhelming.
