Blue Oud by Lattafa is an oud eau de parfum for men and women: Cambodian oud at the top, saffron, vanilla and guaiac wood at the heart, Indian oud in the base. One hundred millilitres.

Two ouds, and why the source matters

Cambodian and Indian oud are genuinely different materials - the Cambodian reading sweeter and more resinous, the Indian deeper and more animalic - and using both gives the composition a wood that shifts character as it develops, rather than staying flat. Saffron and guaiac wood in the heart bridge the two.

How it wears

Two sprays, then wait: oud reads harsher at the nozzle than it will on skin an hour later, and this one needs that hour more than most. No floral or citrus notes soften it, which is what gives it its intense, uncompromising character. Evening and cooler months suit its weight.
