What makes it work

Two things stop this being a dessert. The rum at the opening gives it a boozy, adult edge before any sweetness arrives; and the oakmoss sitting in the middle of a caramel-and-cocoa heart is genuinely unusual - it is a bitter, earthy material, and it cuts the sugar in a way vanilla and tonka alone never would.

How to wear it

Evening and cooler months. Gourmands amplify considerably in heat, so in a Gulf summer apply less and lower on the body. Strong longevity, as the base suggests: one or two sprays is the correct amount.
