CP 2012 is Collection Privée's rose-oud — the classic Gulf pairing, built to be worn by men and women both.

Bulgarian rose is the centre of it, full and floral rather than fresh, and oud wood is what it is set against. Sandalwood and patchouli give the base its depth, and they are the reason the trail lasts as long as it does. This is the traditional architecture of Arabian perfumery, done without ornament.

How it wears

50 ml eau de parfum, unisex. Rose-oud compositions are dense: one spray goes further than you expect, and the fragrance keeps developing for the first hour. Evening and cooler months suit it best — oud amplifies in heat and can become overwhelming at midday.
