Volare - Floral Narcose Rouge

Floral Narcose Rouge by Volare is a floral-woody-amber eau de parfum: jasmine grandiflorum at the top, saffron and bitter almond over cedarwood at the heart, ambergris and musk at the base. Thirty millilitres.

Bitter almond against saffron

That pairing in the heart is the unusual part. Saffron is dry and slightly leathery; bitter almond is soft and faintly gourmand. Together they give the composition a heart that is neither purely spiced nor purely sweet, before the cedarwood underneath dries the whole thing out again.

How it wears

Two sprays, then wait: the jasmine is loudest at the opening, and the composition settles into its ambergris-musk base over the following hour. Evening and special occasions suit its weight.
