Ginseng Cleansing Oil 210 ml - Beauty of Joseon

Beauty of Joseon's Ginseng Cleansing Oil is a first-step cleanser built on ginseng and plant oils. Two hundred and ten millilitres.

What is in it

Soybean, olive, camellia and hydrogenated coconut oils form the base. Ginseng appears five times over - as seed oil, berry extract, root extract, leaf and stem extract - which is what the name refers to. Sage, mugwort, basil, hazelnut and black seed (nigella sativa) oils sit alongside them, with tocopherol as an antioxidant.

Why an oil cleanser

Sunscreen and makeup are oil-soluble. A water-based cleanser cannot lift them properly, which is why skin can feel clean and still be wearing a film of both. An oil dissolves them; the water cleanser afterwards removes what is left. That two-step order is the whole basis of Korean evening routines - and in this climate, where sunscreen is worn daily, it matters more than usual.

How to use it

On dry hands and a dry face, massage for a minute, then add water to emulsify and rinse. Follow with a water-based cleanser.
