Beauty of Joseon's Glow Deep Serum is a Korean brightening serum built on rice bran water and alpha-arbutin. Thirty millilitres.

What is in it

Rice bran water comes before water in the list, which is unusual and is the point of the product. The two actives are alpha-arbutin, which targets uneven tone and dark spots, and niacinamide, which does the same job by a different route while supporting the skin barrier. Panthenol, trehalose and glyceryl glucoside handle hydration.

Underneath sits a grain complex - job's tears, soybean, barley, rice, sesame, wheat, mung bean and corn extracts - which is the house signature and the reason the range is built the way it is.

How to use it

Morning or evening, after cleansing and toner, before moisturiser. Alpha-arbutin works on pigmentation over weeks rather than days, and results depend on daily sunscreen - without it, new pigmentation forms faster than the serum can address the old.
