Orchid, as a perfumery note

Orchid is not a natural material. The flower yields almost no usable oil, so an orchid accord is always constructed - which means it can be built any way the perfumer chooses, and it usually comes out soft, slightly powdery and faintly sweet rather than sharp. That is its appeal: it is a flower without an edge.

Twenty-five millilitres

Roughly a month of daily wear at two sprays, and small enough to live in a handbag rather than on a shelf. It also clears cabin liquid limits without a question at security.

How to wear it

Two sprays at the pulse points, then left alone for ten minutes. Do not rub the wrists together.
