Madawi is one of Arabian Oud's feminine eaux de parfum - a rose and musk composition opened by fruit. Fifty millilitres.

The structure is deliberately simple and it is what gives the fragrance its character: a bright, almost playful fruity opening, and underneath it a rose-and-musk base that is neither. The contrast between the two is the whole point.

Arabian Oud

Arabian Oud is the largest perfume house in the Arab world, and Madawi is one of the compositions where it works in a Western register rather than a traditional Gulf one - which is why it reads as accessible to people who find oud compositions too much.

How it wears

Two sprays. The musk base gives it real longevity; the fruit opening burns off first, so judge it after ten minutes rather than at the nozzle.
