Opulent Oud by Lattafa is a woody oriental eau de parfum: citrus, flowers and saffron at the top, amber, oud and caramel at the heart, resins, musk, woods, patchouli and vanilla at the base. One hundred millilitres.

Caramel in the heart of an oud composition

That is what separates this from a formal oud. Amber and oud alone would read as resinous and austere; caramel alongside them softens the edge and pulls the whole heart toward something closer to a spiced dessert, before the base returns to the traditional resins, musk and patchouli.

How it wears

Two sprays, then wait - a composition this layered changes considerably over the first hour, and the citrus-saffron opening is not what the fragrance is actually about. Evening and cooler months suit its weight.
