Musk Red is an El Nabil roll-on built on herbs: rosemary, basil and tarragon, with lily of the valley and vanilla. Five millilitres, alcohol-free.

Three culinary herbs in a perfume is genuinely unusual, and it is what makes this one distinctive. Rosemary is camphorous, basil is green and peppery, tarragon is anise-like - together they are bracing rather than sweet. Lily of the valley softens them, and the vanilla at the end keeps the whole thing from reading as a kitchen garden.

The roll-on format

No alcohol, applied by rolling. It stays close to the skin and grows with body heat, and the 5 ml bottle travels without a thought about cabin limits - useful for a top-up during the day.
