Rehab – Choco Musk

Choco Musk is one of Al Rehab's best-known accords, here as a home spray: milk chocolate with vanilla and white musk.

The accord

Gourmand chocolate is difficult in a room - it turns cloying fast - and the white musk is what keeps this one comfortable. The vanilla sits between the two, rounding the chocolate without adding weight. The result is soft and warm rather than sugary.

Where it works

A living room in the evening, a majlis, a bedroom. It is a cold-weather accord more than a summer one: heat amplifies gourmands, and what reads as comforting in an air-conditioned room can become heavy on a balcony in August.

How to use it

Two short passes into the air are usually enough for a room. More is not better with a chocolate accord - it is the one register where over-application is immediately obvious.
