Ylang-ylang, alongside rose

Ylang-ylang is the note that gives this its warmth. It is a tropical flower, creamy and slightly banana-like, and it behaves quite differently from rose: where rose is bright and structured, ylang is soft and diffuse. Together they cover both halves of a floral - the shape and the warmth - which is why the composition reads as oriental rather than as a European bouquet.

How it wears

Two sprays at the pulse points, then ten minutes before judging. The sweetness at the base is what carries it through a day; the flowers are what you notice first.
