Musamam is the driest, most austere composition Lattafa makes — closer to a modern niche woody than to the sweet orientals the house built its reputation on.

Saffron, Italian mandarin and lavender open it: leathery, bright and aromatic all at once. Amberwood, Virginia cedar and geranium hold the heart, and geranium in a masculine context reads as green and metallic rather than floral. The base is where it becomes serious — akigalawood, incense and labdanum. Akigalawood is a patchouli derivative with a peppery, woody edge, and it is what gives Musamam its dry, resinous signature.

How it wears

Unisex eau de parfum, 100 ml. Launched in 2022. Moderate to good projection with long wear. Because it is not sweet, it holds up in Gulf heat far better than most Lattafa releases — a genuine daytime option.
