Taif rose is the Saudi cultivar grown in the mountains above the city, and it is the reference rose of Arabian perfumery - deeper and more honeyed than the Bulgarian roses used in Europe. Putting it in a woody, spicy composition rather than a feminine floral is a very Gulf approach, and it is what gives this its balance: the spice and wood carry weight, the rose softens them, and the musk base keeps everything close to the skin.

How it wears

Two sprays at the pulse points, then ten minutes. The spice is loudest at the opening and settles; the rose and musk are what remain.
