Notes

Powdery, earthy, sweet woods. The earthiness is what separates it from a simple sugar accord: it gives the powder something to sit on, and keeps the whole thing from turning candied.

An oil, undiluted

Gris Montaigne dilutes its tahara musks with neither water nor alcohol. The result is a creamy, concentrated texture that sits close to the skin without leaving it greasy, and that lasts through a day because there is no alcohol to carry it away.

How to use it

Dab onto the pulse points - wrists, behind the ears, the base of the throat - and leave it alone for ten minutes. Oils need skin contact and a little warmth before they open; judged straight from the bottle they tell you almost nothing.
