Rouge is Black Edition's saffron-jasmine — spicy and floral at once, and the most opulent thing the house makes.

Saffron gives it the leathery, slightly medicinal bite that defines the material; jasmine answers with sweetness. Ambergris, fir resin and cedarwood build the base — fir resin is the unusual choice here, bringing a sharp, almost coniferous cleanness under the flowers that keeps the composition from becoming heavy.

How it wears

50 ml eau de parfum. Saffron projects, so the dose matters: one or two sprays carry an evening. Best after dark and in cooler months, at a dinner or an occasion rather than in an office — this is a fragrance that announces itself.
