Sensual Vanilla by Maison Alhambra is a gourmand floral eau de parfum: soft almond with a green, hyacinth-like facet at the top, floral vanilla at the heart, tonka bean, vanilla absolute and sandalwood at the base. One hundred millilitres.

Two readings of vanilla

Vanilla appears twice here - through tonka bean's smoky, natural sweetness, and again as a more concentrated vanilla absolute - which is what gives the base its creamy, radiant intensity rather than a single flat vanilla note. Sandalwood underneath adds a dry, milky depth.

How it wears

Two sprays, then wait: the almond opening is loudest first, and the tonka-vanilla-sandalwood base is what carries through the rest of the day.
