Tobacco as a perfumery material

The earliest tobacco fragrances, in the early twentieth century, were built specifically to mask the smell of cigarette smoke. This one takes the same leaf and treats it as a material in its own right - sweet, slightly dried, closer to pipe tobacco than to cigarette smoke - enriched with cocoa and oud to give it depth rather than novelty.

How it wears

Two sprays, then wait: the ginger and tobacco open it, and the oud-cocoa base is where the fragrance settles for the rest of the day. Evening and cooler months suit its weight.
