Royal Gold is El Nabil's floral oriental: jasmine at the opening, rose and vanilla at the heart, musk and ambergris underneath.

Ambergris, and what it does

Ambergris is the note that separates this from an ordinary rose-vanilla. It is mineral and salty rather than sweet, with a slightly animal quality, and it gives the base a depth that musk and vanilla alone would not reach. It is also what makes the drydown last.

How it wears

Two sprays, then ten minutes. The jasmine is loudest at the opening; the rose and vanilla arrive after, and the base is where it settles for the rest of the day.
